  9. Hi. I read your blog quite often and I just wanted to de-lurk and say thank you for helping me realize it does not have to be perfect to be beautiful. I live in a rental and you gave me courage to start picking out little pieces and re-purpose them into colorful bits of art that would help transform the house into a home.

You and pinterest are the bomb-diggity.

    And I love this post.

  10. Oh good gravy. I want every single picture you posted!!

  11. oooooooo! what a fun post!

I love hoop art! We have hoop art on our dining room wall. So fun and colourful. It’s the first thing you see when you walk in our front door. It puts a smile on everyone’s face.

The ribbon hoop – love it. We did an art party for my 11 year-old and used multi-coloured streamers instead of ribbon. The girls loved it. And we left them up for several weeks after because they were so pretty.

  12. Um. OH MY GOSH. Best ideas, EVER! I’ve got a ton of hoops from a church Christmas decor project last year. They’ve been stacked in the corner until I could come up with some amazing idea for them…and now I’ve got 25 choices!! Thanks, I’m totally inspired :)

  13. I love every single one! Thanks for the ideas!

  14. I love this round-up of images! I need to get my hands on some hoops!

  15. Super cool! Love these. Are you un jet-lagged yet?

  16. great ideas. I’m glad you shared with us.

  17. So many beautiful ideas…I kept thinking as I scrolled down the page “oh, that’s my favorite, no wait! That is my favorite…I could make that!” I never knew an embroidery hoop had so many uses :)

  18. OK, so once again you have beat me to it! I saw the fabric hoops some time ago and have wanted to do a wall of them and then I see this post and now I HAVE to do it. I am totally inspired by your blog. Love this!

  19. Oh, Nester, this post made me chuckle. Jack and I got married 27 years ago this June. We had a very inexpensive, DIY wedding–and I gave doilies framed in embroidery hoops to my bridesmaids! They were so lovely in a 1985 “country” kind of way. I also routinely used embroidery hoops to frame stencilled creations. I never would have thought that this would become stylish again, but it IS a good, inexpensive idea! :)

  20. The baby was obviously the winner here! But I also love the hoop on the door and the ones used as Christmas wreaths. Genius!

  21. yes! I need more hoop art in my life…just got my first one this week and now I can’t wait to build on my collection :)

  22. Unbelievable! I had just started downloading a site that was going to tell me how to make…..HOOP ART! I opened my email while waiting and there you were! With this post! Amazing!
I am soooooooooooo sorry that I got rid of all my grandmother, mother and sister’s hoops after they passed away…I didn’t know what to do with them at the time. sigh
I’m going to root around in the garage for any that survived the great purge!
    I LOVE your blog!!

  23. Who knew one could create all this loveliness with a simple embroidery/quilting hoop?!

  24. Ill never look at embroidery hoops the same again! And yes!, that baby on the dresser! Outstanding photo op!!

  25. Love them all,… But baby for sure wins the *most adorable* award

  27. oh my heavens! these hoop are my new jam. How many hoop ideas are too many for one home? I want each of these ideas in each of my rooms. Would that be awkward? Well, I guess I’ll have to be awkward? This is the best compilation of ideas yet.

    way to go.

  28. They say what goes around comes around. I remember embroidery hoops from the 80′s! Cross stitching and decorating with dried flowers, etc. These ideas are great, though, and with a new flair. Love it!

  29. Wow! I love this! What a great compilation and some new ideas! Thanks for featuring my knock off spheres!

  30. Great post! I love to see that some of the same things I did with embroidery hoops back in the early ’80s are being enjoyed again. Love the NEW ideas, too!

  31. Great collection of hoop ideas! LOVE the idea of putting some vintage sheets and doilies on the wall.

  32. I have SO been wanting to use embroidery hoops with fabric as wall art in my baby’s room! Now, I just have too, all of this inspiration is TOO wonderful! Really beautiful & I love that it allows you to use lots of different fabrics & textures in a room! One question, where do you buy your hoops? I haven’t looked exhaustively, but I noted the prices of some the other day at JoAnn & they seemed a little pricey to me…like $18-$30, is that right?

  33. These are all wonderful ideas, i had such a good time looking through all of them. my favourite would have to be the clothes pin wreath. If you havent already seen a bowel made out of clothes pin, that also a great idea! which one was your favourite idea out of all of them?

  34. Thanks so much for featuring my hoop in this wonderful collection! It’s been great seeing the extra traffic to the shop but really I am so pleased to have discovered your thoughtful blog in such a pleasant way :) I subscribed right away and have been enjoying following your posts so much! Art. And I actually do have some questions for you if it’s
allright. Is it simply me or does it appear like some of these remarks appear like they are coming from brain dead individuals?
