Bird Watching & Some Winners

Loving this embellished vase from Centsational Girl, I think semi-handmade is such a smart way to customize and personalize something without feeling like you have to create something from scratch.

Simple Spring via Miss Mustard Seed, I don’t consider myself a seasonal decorator either, I don’t have a bin of spring decor or Fourth of July decorations (although if you do I think that’s fantastic) BUT, I do hope that my home always reflects the current season–Mustard Seed gives some great ideas and beautiful photos.

I saw this instagram photo over at Absolutely Beautiful Things and just thought it was incredibly inspiring.  It looks like little poms made of ragamuffin garland on cushions.  Lovely.

I saw these cookies over at Bless Our Nest, aren’t they just gorgeous?  They were created by a fellow blogger The Doughmestic Housewife.  I was happy to read that she ships anywhere in the US, packing this idea away for my next girl’s weekend or boy’s birthday party.  Wouldn’t little terrarium cookies be nice? Or owls? Or silhouettes?

I happened to catch the premier of the new show on HGTV Living Abroad.  They say “it picks up where House Hunters International leaves off” and I found it fascinating.  HHI is my favorite show on HGTV so it’s no surprise that I like Living Abroad–currently it airs Fridays at 9pm EST at least it did this week, did you happen to see it?  I fell asleep during the Dubai episode and I’m kicking myself for not recording it.  And yes, I fell asleep on a Friday night before 10pm.  I’ve been old all of my life.

  1. The cookies are sooo super cute! But, the vase by Centsational Girl is pretty awesome!!!

  2. I caught Living Abroad too and I was absolutely fascinated. I am a geography teacher and I am currently teaching my students about East Asia. How I wish I could bring my DVR to school to show the Tokyo episode. The Dubai episode was definitely interesting too, mostly about how different it is for expat women to live there. Can’t wait for future eps!

  3. Too kind my friend, it always makes my heart skip a beat if I see *Nester* has linked to me, such an honor. I totally endorse the whole “semi-homemade” philosophy too! Hope you’re enjoying your Spring!

Those cookies are so adorable! I don’t have the patience (or the talent!) to make something so detailed! And the rag tassels look perfect with the burlap-like fabric on those pillows!
