I still read blogs almost every day. I absolutely love blogs and they are my go to source when I need a recipe or a laugh or encouragement. One of the most exciting things about reading blogs is when you find a new one that you immediately love. The other day I stumbled across johns journal.

Look at these fabulous DIY no sew roman shades Maria made {I featured them today at Window Mistreatments} Stunning, no?

Look, she even put a big canvas in front of her tv–there’s a tv there over her fireplace!

Y’all, she made that zebra table with the nailhead trim. Dying, I am.

And she also made this skirted table. You can see the rest of Maria’s home here.
I just love blogs.

The title of this post is “johns jouranal”.. just so you know ;)
i’m an idiot, spell check doesn’t check the titles and I ALWAYS have an error, so I’m changing it, but watch out, everyone will get this post in their reader twice~so sorry~thanks Jackie!
Love the art over the TV. I am going to be purchasing a wall mounted flat screen and WILL be doing this! Thanks!
You do find such beautiful pics, don’t you? Thanks for blogstalking for the rest of us :)
Oh my! She’s so talented!!! I usually don’t like zebra print on anything, but that table is pure genius!!
Wow. She’s got the touch! I’m going to check out her blog right now.
So talented, she is. AND, I love that you’re a mere mortal like the rest of us, lol. Great post, as always. Love your blog.
Have a great day.
I actually get pretty tootin (not in a gassy way, mind you) excited when I discover a new blog. I then obsess over said new blog, and for days read all the back posts. Did this for your blog too, and now I have to check out Johns Journal and see if it is my new obsession/procrastination for today. Thanks for the introduction. Now, I’m off to obsess…..
I love that dining room!! Thanks for sharing a new blog for me to read!!
Neat feature! I have got to click over and see how she used that canvas to cover her TV. I love ideas like that!!
Great find! I also love love love blogs. My reader just keeps growing. It’s so fun writing a blog too. I really thought it would start to be a chore but 5 months in and I still love it. :)
I wonder how she attached the art over the TV??? I would LOVE to do this too! I just found your blog so will be your newest follower! XO, Pinky

I’m like you when I find a New blog that captures my attention… I wear out the bookmark button !
I’m going over there now and seeing for myself.
I’ve been reading John’s Journal for a while now…Maria is amazing and so beautiful! When she first posted the artwork covering her TV, I emailed her about it. She was SO sweet to email me details AND photos, and now I have the same artwork hiding my TV. Love it!
That\’s a mold-braeekr. Great thinking!
Thank you so much for sharing this website. I’ve been captivated by it all night. I feel like Maria and I could be the best of friends. Just love it!
Man, oh, man, am I in trouble! Whenever I find a new blog to love it inevitably means a few hours of my life will be sucked away (albeit in blissful slobbering over some lovely rooms). Thanks for the heads up about this gorgeous little number…
Nester,
I’m sure you’ve seen this post about your blog, but just wanted to make sure: http://designfabulous.com/2011/05/27/some-great-advice-for-design-bloggers/#comments
I’m up late and using Stumble Upon and found it.
Oops, I hit enter before filling in my info on the previous comment. :)
Nester, what wonderful inspiration! Love the skirted table! Hope you and your family are having a wonderful summer! It’s going by way too fast, isn’t it?
Hugs!
So inspiring! I honed in on that skirted table because I have an antique table like that and it just doesn’t match my style anymore. Where’s my glue gun?
Where did you get the table from in the dining room? Do you happen to know the price too? I love the lighting though in that room.
