Holiday Link Ups

As usual, I’m late to the party.

Yesterday Layla hosted a holiday mantel party and there are almost 300 inspiring entries to look at.   I figure if I can’t keep my parties organized, you might not be able to either.

Here are some link up parties I know of off hand::

another reminder, because I love this button and want to have it made into wallpaper for my house

I KNOW there are more if you are hosting a party I’d love for you to link up with the date and link to your informational post about your party.

  1. There are so many this year. I have to pick and choose. Also coordinate my decorating calender with the party calenders. I could use a secretary! whew!

  2. I appreciate the list, Nester! I have a hard time keeping them straight too. I mentioned doing a Christmas themed “Dishing It!” party in today’s post, so I hope it’s okay I linked that up. I like to do a little Christmas survey (ie. What are your favorite Christmas traditions?, What’s Your Favorite Christmas Ornament?, etc. etc.) and find out more about other bloggers. :)

  3. I love the simplicity of the mantel that you did. It is lovely.

  4. Love your mantel. I wish I could stay my ding dang hand to something more minimalist…..but the glitter made me do it.

Thanks for the list of holiday link parties too. Pass the wassail. (ew)

  5. I’m ready to start my mantle over and just go simple! I have to remind myself of the “less is more” mantra sometimes!

  6. Seriously swooning. Love the simplicity of your mantel. Just gorgeous.

YOUR MANTEL IS TO DIE FOR!!!
Can’t wait to see it in person. ;-)

  8. Are your lime slices fresh? Treated? Do share please!

    • They were fresh that day and the next day they looked like yellow vomit. A great idea for a party but I have no idea how to keep them long term. Anyone?

  9. Your mantle is beautiful! And thanks for the ‘save the date’- I needed that!!

  10. I also see why you love that button. So nice!

  11. I wish I had a mantel! Even more now after looking at all of the matel candy at Layla’s yesterday! Maybe someday…

  12. L-O-V-E your gorgeous mantle! I’m liking shades of blue this Christmas, too.
Thanks SO much for the list of Linky parties, I better get busy!
    Blessings!

  13. Girl, I love that mantel! Love the candle in the wreath…gotta find my battery operated ones and try that. I have the coffee filters…but I can’t find the wreath forms anywhere. “Anywhere” being Dollar Tree and Walmart. So, I’m sure they’re out there. : )

  14. Your mantel is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo gorgeous and is worth waiting for!
It is so simple and elegant…. the word poetic comes to mind! SERIOUSLY!!!

    • Oh my gosh that is so sweet. My wreath just fell down, luckily not into the burning fire in the fireplace, I didn’t stick my hook up there very good. Round two…

  15. Gorgeous as usual! LOVE. Thanks for the link up reminders…Awesome:)

  16. Hey Nester! I love your happy & simple mantel display. I promise I did not see yours before I decorated mine…sure, my coffee filter wreath isn’t centered, but we went about the decorating thing in a similar fashion. Anywhoo, I LOVE your fresh flowers with limes, especially. Simply beautiful!

  17. Thanks for the consolidated list, Nester! Beautiful mantel! Shute, last night when I checked Layla’s there was only 200:)

  18. What you were tardy for the party??

  19. Beautiful mantel Nester! So perfectly simple and pretty.

  20. Very pretty mantel. Love how it coordinates with the restof your house. At least you made it to the party – better late than never!

  21. I’m off the subject, but do you remember the lady who made the aprons for sale? I think you featured her once? ? ? ? I’m trying to find her site. Thank you if you can help.

    • I think “pink&polka dot” and has an etsy shop in addtn to her blog? I have her bookmarked here somewhere…prolly ez’est via blog this time of yr. Course she may b “glamping”, think she’s one of the vintage trailer gals. Then again, I may b defused. Nothing new of late. :-/ will try2find bkmk&come back. -s-

      • Found it! Hope she’s the 1 you’re looking for,but she does make purty aprons & am close to positive I found her here, too. Blog is and has contact info plus ebook on slipcovers&various tutorials. hope this helps…-s-

  22. Looks like you’ve had some floral design experience, Lady. I see some Asian influence in the way you’ve lined up your vases to make the lovely L shape.

Regarding ways to keep those limes fresh, there’s not much more you can do than add a drop of bleach to the water and change it daily. Not fun, but it’s the only way. Also, always be sure to start the design with a freshly scrubbed vase too since bacteria is the number one enemy of cut flowers (and branches and greens).

  23. Simply beautiful mantle. I still have one of those wreaths on my to-do – so pretty!! Thanks for party link up too. I’m excited about your tour of homes party- I’m trying to get most of my stuff done now because last year instead of working – I spent hours going through everyone’s home =) {so much fun!}

    Thanks again! ~ Stephanie Lynn

  24. You mantel is very pretty. It really looks like it gives off a nice ‘fresh’ feeling. :)

  25. Geeez, Nester, you are more amazing to me every day. I’ll b looking at all the linkies via archives in February. (please everybody, archive for us slow-types?) LOVE the mantel, and suggestion for the limes (in addition to the bleach&water, basics are critical)–toss them in powdered ascorbic acid u find in the canning supplies. Keeps avocadoes&apples&such from browning & going south before you’re ready. Must be used sparingly in edibles (imagine chewing a straight-up VitC) but u can load em up for display. hth,cuz they are gorgeous in the arrgmt! -s-
