May your 2011 be a year where you try something new. Stir the expected in with the unexpected.
Risk more than others think is safe. Care more than others think is wise. Dream more than others think is practical. Expect more than others think is possible.
–Cadet Maxim

This is not the first time over the past few days that I’ve read about trying something new, not being afraid, stepping outside of the box. I wonder how many more times I need to read it before I realize that maybe God’s tryin’ to tell me something. ;) I guess 2011 will be about stepping outside of my box and not being afraid to try things. Thanks for sharing, Nester!
Happy New Year! :)
I’m working hard on learning life lessons and embracing the answers that come.Stepping outside myself and my comfort zone is a struggle that I plan on conquering in 2011.All of you wonderful people in blog land have helped me on this journey.Thank You,Happy New Year!!!!

I couldn’t agree more and that quote couldn’t be more true for me right now. Happy new year!
my husband walked by as I pulled up this post. He plays the accordion but has been playing the same old irish and italian songs for the past 15 years. He was so inspired by this video. So if nothing else you have made my husband really want to try playing some of the contemporary songs out today. I am always inspired by your posts, weather or not you have an accordion in them. Thanks for a great bloggy year. Hope 2011 brings some positive changes to all our lives.
I like that….sitr the expected in with the unexpected! Happy New Year, my friend!
Hugs!
Susan
I’m definitely trying some new things and stepping out of my comfort zone…I’m going to Blissdom and running a half marathon! Eeek!! Can’t wait to meet you. Happy New Year Nester!!
Love that final quote.
Happy New Year!
OMGosh, Nester-looove that quote. That’s how I am spening my NYE-dreaming&putting a plan under it for a solid “frame”. And as limpy/gimpy as I am, as ill&need as many surgeries as I do, with as many overwhelming responsibilities as I have, I *know* my friends and remaining family (*see PS) will surely think I am nuts & should simply work on being well. But I have worked since I was 10, ignored the docs&wound up with both a cheering section&a worry group for 30yrs since the SLE was dx’d, almost kicked off a cpl times, and developed more DD’S (darn diseases) along the way. It’s how I keep going&stay somewhat sane. I just keep finding new ways to do it. The more I do “what I’m told” the worse off I am. So I am going back to my way&praying it works. Again. ;) thanks for great posts&inspiring photos and *that quote*. I needed it. Tonight. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL& MAY ALL OUR DREAMS COME TRUE! -s-
I forgot my own PS! So–*PS–my only sib decided he’d spew a string of nasty letters&”divorce” me before Thanksgiving. Why? He wants his money from the folks’ estate, wants their home sold NOW (even tho they went in a care facility right when the market crashed&still hasnt recovered in their area,i feel blessd to have trustworthy renters!) and made an invalid assumption, without asking, over something silly. Then lied to his sons. And in his letter to me,knowing I would give to the attorneys with my version&witness statements. Get this–he’s a Stephen Minister. Twice over. The MarineCorpsLeague chaplain saves me or my head would have exploded by now, my neph’s are blessings&so are my friends. They think he’s mentally ill or in early Alz, or just mean&nuts, pick one. So it’s been turned over to a HigherCourt. I should feel sorry for him & forgive his periodic tantrums. I can’t. Mom&Dad are still blessing my life& I am in no hurry to close their estate-it’s their stuff not his or mine. So that’s the bites of bitter in some of my posts. I hope you can forgive me. -s-
I hope you had a lovely Christmas! Happy New Years! Here’s to a fabulous new year!

Happy New Year Nester! I love that accordion guy…and how he didn’t let a giant deep freezer in his garage get in the way of his skills.
Thanks for giving me continued {practical, frugal, beautiful} inspiration to make my house a home.

hahahahahaha! That’s the greatest thing I’ve ever seen! I think the Blackeyed Peas need to take him on their next tour!
For a second I thought it said “Drink more than others think is practical,” and that sounded pretty good. ;)
