Hi Nester,

Love all of the mantel party pics.
I have a dilemma with my own fireplace though: there is NO mantel! How should I decorate this area? It is a large white open space/wall, with no shelving, a fireplace and a hearth.

I’m looking forward to seeing what’s out there. I have yet to see a mantel such as mine – it actually has 3 large windows above it, which makes hanging anything like art or a mirror impossible. It is also very deep – at least 2 feet. And includes large cubbies on either side. A decorating nightmare!

I absolutely love this post! Your tips were RIGHT on and I can’t wait to spend more time looking at everyone’s mantels!

The one thing I hate about my mantel is that it has a HUGE mirror glued flush against the wall above it. I mean, huge. I’m thinking of DIYing a frame for it. In the meantime, I guess I just gotta deal with it! :)
