I have this very breakable shelf that holds a very breakable and already twice repaired urn that holds a very heavy coral..
…that I got from ebay but it was a little pink and smokey and old and dusty…
…so I washed it and then whitewashed it….
…and to be safe I pumped some hot glue onto the bottom of the urn…
…and now they won’t come down until I decide it’s time.
What have you used hot glue for lately?

I bought a hot gun & made myself a tassell!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE them, they are no where to but over here & shipping costs so much so I decided to make my own. It turned out OK, not as great as the ones you have but not bad for a first effort!
What have I NOT used hot glue for lately? My most recent hot glue project was a lamp revamp. (see it here: http://restorativeliving.blogspot.com/2010/04/rosette-lamp-redo.html)
Where do you like to buy hot glue? I always feel like I’m getting taken. There has to be a better way than just buying a ton of smaller packages.
I just hot glued fringe onto the bottom of my drapes ala Nester!
Personally, I’m more of a superglue fan than a hot glue fan, but hey. One day I’ll post about all the things I’ve glued.
But if you’re looking to save on glue and time, I often think it would be a darn sight easier just to glue the kids down. :)
I haven’t used hot glue but I have used museum tack. I use it to keep a small porcelion bowl that I use as a soapdish on the shelf in my bathroom.
I have a very fragile piece of coral that keeps breaking. I successfully repaired it with some E-600.
Just stopping by to say THANKS for being one of my Top Referrers for April!

Oh, you’re so smart! Wish I would have glued down my favorite Frankoma pitcher before it crashed into little ceramic shards on my hardwoods! My daughter (yes, girls break things, too!) accidentally bumped into the not-so-stable pedestal it was sitting on. I’ll have to use hot glue on whatever I find to replace it AND glue the pedestal down, too!
Hot glue…Mom’s best friend! I cannot tell you how often I whipped out my glue gun for instant repairs. With soccer balls flying, skateboard riding, and general wrestling that took place daily with all 3 boys, I learned early that I cannot “live’ without that gun…

I would have never thought about that. Somehow it doesn’t surprise me to know that you thought of it though:)
Brilliant!
That’s a gorgeous shelf! I used hot glue Saturday to make a fabulous hat for a Kentucky Derby party. Using a hot pink straw hat, I first wired on some pale pink peonies, then hot glued on some High Cotton cards. It was bodacious!
