white

Sometimes when I crave a change I shop the house for everything I can find of one color.

For the display in the back of the barn we grabbed everything white we could reach in a four minute period and then worked it all into a vignette. We didn’t question if it was an empty vase, a used up candle holder, a random top of a column, a piece of yarn or a salt pillow that was sitting on a table. We hope you don’t question it either, remember, it’s decorating, not rocket surgery–the goal is for it to be pretty and for us to have fun while we do it. Mission accomplished!

This method works especially well when you are decorating for impact for a party. Pick a color and then grab all of it and see what you can come up with.

When you eliminate colors, texture comes to the forefront.
