Thursday I shared the mess that is currently my office. And you all reacted the same way I hope to react when someone shares their mess with me–you accepted me anyway. Maybe you even liked me a little more BECAUSE I shared the mess. Thank you.

Revealing ourselves to trustworthy people always connects.

That’s what is supposed to happen when someone goes first and says here’s my gross. We the people usually react with understanding because we’ve all been there in some way. We can all relate to big ugly messes and really, they don’t surprise us or disappoint us, they simply connect us.

Do you know that our family has created a place online for us who are living in the middle of a broken mess to be able to quietly come and be encouraged and hang out? It’s another place to connect on a deeper level. It’s a place for us all to sigh a big “me too”.

Not because we have it all figured out, but because we like community and want to have a safe place to go deeper than we go here on our public blogs. It’s a membership site called Hope*ologie, where hopers like us gather.

October’s hope*ologie printable created by Annie Barnett

At Hope*ologie there is laughter and ridiculation, (right now you can read about one of my embarrassing moments) there are videos and worksheets and printables and written content by me, Emily and Dad, and Chad and John even wrote something this month. There’s an invitation to meet us at the Barn in November, a few fun DIY projects even a video of me teaching my mom how I make pizza.

Every month we create two podcasts, the Hope*ologie podcast is a little more serious and focuses on our monthly Hope*ologie theme. So far our themes have been Hospitality, Rest, Simplicity, Imperfection, Purpose and this month’s theme is Change.

The other podcast is the Sister*ologie podcast, which is pure fun, annoyance, giggling, uncomfortable-ness that is me and Emily when we get together. It’s basically like listening into a phone conversation once a month. Have mercy.

And starting this month, the Hope*ologie podcast is available on iTunes so anyone can listen and subscribe to the Hope*ologie podcast for free!

This month’s Hope*ologie podcast features Dad, Emily and me y’all if you’ve never heard my voice, it’s deep. I sound like Brett Butler with a cold. My apologies, especially to Brett Butler. Also, I was in a major “mood” when we started off this podcast, and my funk is pretty obvious. I noticed by the end of the podcast I was laughing and having a great time, which is testament to the fact that my Dad and sister are fun to hang out with. We’d love for you to hang out with us as we talk about change while you are folding your laundry, running your miles or driving to work.

hope in the middle

When we first started Hope*ologie in April, we left the content up for just a month, then replaced it with new content on the first day of the next month. We heard from our fellow Hope*ologists that they didn’t always get to go through all the content so now we’ve made a major change and past content is available again. All those past posts, DIYs, videos and Hope*ologie podcasts are available from the beginning. The only things that will be removed every month are the Printable from Annie Barnett, and the ridiculousness that is our Sisterologie podcast.

So if you have yet to join Hope*ologie, now is a great time to join us–and if it’s not for you, simply cancel during your first 30 days and let us know that you’d like a refund.

Find out more about Hope*ologie here and if the time is right, we’d love for you to join us.

Even though I mentioned the invitation to The Barn, please know, invitations will come for the entire Nesting Place community, not just for members of Hope*ologie. I’m planning fun workshops that will be open to anyone who can attend, but the Hope*ologie event will be my first event!
