I’m getting ready for the trip.  Actually, I’m probably on a plane right now while you are reading this.  I leave my house in 2 hours then I’m on planes for about 20 hours.

I’m not ready and I know I never will be.

They really should make you take some type of standardized organization test before they allow you to go on one of these trips.  I’ve planned a wedding, been in charge of 13 moves and birthed 3 children and my skills have never been tested this much.  Let’s just say this, one of the things I’m packing in my carry on is a 5 pound bag of wires.

I want to thank you all for your tweets, texts, cards in the mail, emails, facebook messages, comments–it’s overwhelming in the absolute BEST way.  And my poor sister has started answering her phone when I call with “Tanzania Question Hotline, How May I Assist You?“.   I call  her 47 times a  day with questions because she did the Compassion trip to the Philipines last year so she tells me everything I need to know.

In honor of Compassion and encouraging each other DaySpring wanted to give you a gift.   Or at least 150 of you. The first 150 people who sign up here will receive a card pack so you can encourage your friends, or neighbors or hey, maybe you sponsor a compassion child and want to send them a card?   DaySpring gives a percentage of their sales of all these cards to Compassion.

This is the card pack that 150 of you will receive.  I’m going to try my best to catch it once the list hits the 150 limit and announce it here but, since I’m traveling, I can’t make any promises.  But DaySpring will contact you if you were in the first 150–and no worries about leaving your info with them, they won’t sell your address or anything.Go here to sign up for your free card pack. {The card giveaway is CLOSED now – DaySpring will contact you on Monday if you were one of the first 150}.

Follow all the Compassion Bloggers here.  I hope to have my first Tanzania post up as early as Sunday evening.  I’ll see you on the other side.  Of the world. Literally.
