They are the backdrop to way too many of my photos.

You are probably sick of looking at them.

If there’s anything you’d like to know about my striped drapes check out my post at Window Mistreatments today. If you are tired of hearing about them, click away and we’ll both pretend this never happened.
Did you notice my dog? His personal life mission is to stand in every photo I take and then act all nonchalant about the whole thing. I have to crop his brown self out of almost every photo I take.
PS, are these extra-large photos annoying? Would you rather they be smaller?

I love the large photos! I have tried so many times to click on a photo of yours to enlarge it, only to have my page redirected to a page with just the photo on it….and no bigger. Keep it large so we can see all the beauty going on in those rooms!
ahh, good to know!
Love the large photos, too. Also, love the dog. He can be in every pic and I’ll be happy. He’s just trying to be helpful, don’t you know. Since you aren’t busy enough, you could start a blog just for the dog. I’ll read it.
XL photos are great. I love how your pooch acts all casual and cool. He’s all like: IAPAB “I am perfect and beautiful’ =P
keep the photos large! show more dog!
I agree with the other comments – keep the photos large and please don’t cut the dog out…he goes amazingly well with your house and decor (and has a precious little sweet face, too)!
Nooo!! Leave the photos the same…dog and largeness included. :)
Leave the dog in! He’s not hurting anything. And he’s brown? I assumed black. A dog in a pic is never a bad thing IMO.
I Love the large photos (makes me crazy 2when I can’t see the details) and I also love the dog. Don’t dogs affect your decorating? They do mine!
Great blog. Love it, thanks!
I too LOVE the large photos – I don’t mind scrolling down and love the detail that the large photos allow. And I LOVE your striped drapes – will never get tired of them! I think your pup should star in every photo. I always see them in magazine shoots – they make a space “real”!!
You shouldn’t crop your dog out. He’s cute. :) And the large photos are just fine!
I personally love the large photos and have started doing them on my blog too!! Love the blog(s) keep up the great work!! I use your blog as a resource often! In fact, this week I’m using your paint colors to find the perfect gray/khaki for our living room that hasn’t been painted in 8 years!! :)
I love the drapes, I love the dog (he’s homey), and I love the x-large pics. Too many blogs post teeny tiny photos that make it impossible to see the project/room/craft. I am less likely to Feature those when I can’t see ‘em! I think your dog is maybe a bit of a diva with his mugging for the camera?? ;)
Speaking of the dog, is that a chocolate lab? With such a beautiful home, or really with ANY home=), what are your tricks to keeping that dog hair manageable? Our lab is just out of control right now and I need a quick fix! Thanks!
Love the large photos, the dog and the only reason that I don’t like the window mistreatments is: because they’re not hanging in my house!!!! Write my name down and call me the day that you want to get rid of them. They had me the first time I saw them, and I’ll take the dog too!
Sincerely,
Debbie
I like the large pics, AND the dog. It makes the beauty of your home real (I’m still in awe you have white furniture with kids and a large lab!) Love it all!
Love the dog most of all, never crop him out. Also love the bigger pictures but mostly the dog.
I LOVE the photo size…do not go smaller. I had to scroll back up to notice the dog because I was too focused on the curtains in that photo. I’ve always liked those curtains.
Love the drapes, love the size of the pictures, love the dog! Do not crop him out! :)
It has all been said above! I love the large photos, your adorable and photogenic dog and the striped drapes! They always look so crisp in the photos-I am envious of someone who can 1-make them and 2- have the vision to know how pretty they will look!
i love the size of your photos, AND the photos with your dog in them. Don’t change a thing. :)
Hi, New to your blog and just wanted to let you that I’m really enjoying it. I like your large photos. I wanted to let you know that I agree with you about thrift store finds, your home is lovely with them.
Love the drapes, the dog and the extra large photos!!
Love the drapes, love the large photos, love the dog!
I love the big photos! It’s easier to see your beautiful home! I find your blog so inspiring. I’ve never been good at being a homemaker, but your blog has helped me with my perspective and home. Thanks!
I LOVE the size of the photo’s !Please DON’T crop the brown 4 legged one :)Oh It’s ok if you are in the pic too :)
First I LOVE the drapes and always wanted to know about them. Second – I love the large photos and wish I knew how to make them large on my blog as well….and third- I didn’t even notice the dog until you pointed him out- how funny!
I’m getting old, so large pictures are a must LOL. Its so much easier to see the details and it feels more like a magazine. I love your dog, he is a beauty.
LOVE the larger photos…if only other home-dec blogs would share their pretty pics in a size we can see. :) So often they are small and unclickable or the same size or smaller when clicked.
I don’t swoon over horizontal stripes but I love your style and appreciate you sharing your ideas.
I love the large photos. I say “keep ‘em”. There’s my 2 cents. :)
i like the big pics!
The dog can stay, no pun intended. The drapes are lovely, the photos are gorgeously adapted to mine (yes, mine) aging, spectacle-bedecked eyes. The hostess, well, she is the mostest. Thanks for making me smile (again) after a long day of dodging orange cones on the Beltway, cleaning commodes, removing Science Projects from the back of the fridge and swatting at Kamikaze gnats in my somewhat impressive (to a gnat) herb garden! You rock.
I prefer larger pictures myself. I’ve always loved your drapes, but wondered how long it would be before you decided you needed a change.
I love the large pics. And I have to tell you: I love the dog, too.
Fan of the xlarge photos and your dog and you.
love those curtains! Would you mind sharing what kind of pooch that is?? What a sweetie!
Love the nonchalant dog and the large photos. Not tired of the curtains at all.
What’s the dog’s name? Just wondering;)
I LOVE your white sectional! We are in need of a new sofa and love seat. I LOVE the look of white but don’t know how practical it would be. We have three very busy children who would be on it all the time. I know slipcover’s are washable, but I am curious, how often do you wash yours to keep it looking white? And do you have regrets going with white?
I LOVE your style and blog…keep up the great creativity. It’s such a blessing to me!
Jen
What a good photography dog!
2 things – the drapes are one of my FAVORITE things about your home. I love them. I really do. & second, the photo size is GREAT. :0) Going to the Window Mistreatment link right now. :0)
I love the large photos (otherwise I’m squinting!) and your dog comment made me laugh out loud. She looks just like my Choco Lab Ruby, who’s equally coy.
I love the bigger photos – perfect! Now… of to read about your awesomeness drapes.
I vote for large photos. Before when you clicked on one to get the details, it didn’t really get bigger. I need the details.
I love the large photos and I especially love the dog. He is too funny!
i am always drawn to blogs that have beautiful large photos…you can see everything so much better. so, thanks!
I love your large photos and your drapes. :) Your dog is cute too.
Love the curtains and love the dog!! We’re the proud parents of 2 black labbies…
Love the dog, love the drapes and love the big photos. The realness of it all is what makes your blog you so dont change a thing.
I LOVE the drapes, the dog and the large pictures!
I am looking for some advice: Yesterday I bought a used Broyhill Fontana coffee table, square with pine veneer. Because it’s several years old and previously lived in a home with little boys, it’s got a lot of dings and scratches. Anybody have any idea how I can fill in some of those dings, gouges, etc.? Or do I need to refinish it, and how do I do that without ruining the table? Any suggestions welcome. Thanks.
