Here’s a little glimpse of our home from the past week.
My husband didn’t even comment on the fact that he had to climb over a chair to get to the sofa, apparently that is to be expected. He simply told me that he liked the color on the walls and said we should use it in the foyer too. Do I need any more proof that I married the perfect man for me?
Join my sister, Emily today as she hosts a glimpses of home link up. The word glimpses seems odd after writing it a few times.

You have a good man! ;) I guess he’s used to all of your “fluffing,” huh? Are you rearranging furniture, or just painting? :) Happy weekend!
Love your house and you sure did marry the right man.
I love the blue painted frames going up your stairwell? Have I missed the post on those or do I have something to look forward to?
And yes, it sounds like you married the right man for you!
Haha, that should have been an exclamation point after the first sentence!
That is so sweet Nester! Not the same luck here… after I painted the wall 2 dyas ago, hubby said the walls were to “peachy”. Now here I go again… find another paint color… Wishing a lovley day!
The pic of your husband amid the chaos is awesome … you DID marry the right guy for you!
Lucky woman. My husband tries, but I think he feels a little like Ricky Ricardo and he’s married the Lucy of home improvement — I’m armmed with my staple gun and he just wants to relax and watch television.
Love it!! By the way, what is the light blue paint color peaking out of the other room in the first picture? I love that one too.
Amy
I second this question!
Yep, he is a keeper! :)
what a great guy! Love the wall color.
I think I am going to go out today and get some white ducking(I think that is what it is called) to slipcover my chairs!
You know what they say….A good man if hard to find! Glad you got yours.
I wanted to say that “you have a good man” but your first comment beat me to it!! Nester, I love your “authenticity”!! Oh, and your picture reminds me to continue to pray for my children’s future spouses!! God is Faithful! Have a great weekend!
love that you show REAL LIFE in these photos!
Thank you! I love to work in my home decorating, etc. But I woke up in the middle of the night feeling really overwhelmed with some re-working of rooms that I am needing to do soon more out of necessity then choice…….
Seeing your in-progress pics was just what I needed this morning to bring a smile to my face and give me the perspective that this is an exciting challenge!
I have moved often, am renting currently and love how REAL you are, thanks!
Alls I could do was chuckle. Fortunately, my husband is the same way, never a peep, he always says, “I trust ur vision, 1000%” …and trust me, they all ain’t pretty. Three cheers for hubbies today!!
I really like the white light fixture in your sitting area. We need a new light for our kitchen. Any suggestions on places to find a new one?
Love the pic of your husband calmly watching TV amid the chaos… what a patient soul! Our home looks similar right now… except we have color swatches on the wall. Still trying to find just the right shade of tan. I also like the frames in the stairway… :-)
Yep, I would say he’s a keeper. :) Love your house. I spied a really pretty blue table.
Oh thank heaven! You’re NOT perfect!!! :)
Hee hee – love the pic. My son just smiles and shakes his head everytime he wakes up to me with a paint brush and our house looking like that.
Did you paint your entry living area little room-achacallit? I love that blue. Lovely…
Is that a roll of toilet paper on the end table next to Mr. Nester? If so, I heart you even more.
YES! we ran out of kleenex–speaking of which, has anyone tried those puffs plus with vicks? They are a spectacular invention.
That is the best! I love it! I am always like “Sorry! Gotta use TP!!! We are out!!!!” I knew I was not the only one!!!
I was just going to ask the very same question as J.D. Why is toilet paper in that room? Is that a new design trend you haven’t told us about yet?
Yay for hubbys who get it!
You’ve gotta love a good husband who does not mind a house pulled apart ; so it will be beautiful later.
LOL! Don’t you just love hubbies that know just the right thing to say.
Dear Nester,
My husband is about to get an assignment. We already know it’s off to Utah. Our house will go on the market soon. Wish you were here!!
Harried Homebody,
Pat
Lucky you for finding such a man! : )
My living room has been in the same disarray since Tuesday. I’ve been painting. And I’m still not done. I simply could NOT bear to paint anymore today since it took THREE coats on the crown molding.
I’m in the midst of a few projects too, so I can relate. And any man that doesn’t question chaos but instead says, love the color you painted the walls…is a keeper in my book!
Kat :)

Isn’t it wonderful to be married to a man who doesn’t even blink at the crazy stuff you do? I love men who understand – and love – their women like that.
The best part about this post is the roll of toilet paper on the end table!! It’s a true glimpse into your real life. And gives me great comfort in knowing we’re all the same. hehe!
Oooh, you have a split staircase! It’s one of my most favorite house features.
Also, is the color in the room to the right of the stairs a blue or a green? If it’s green, could you tell us the color?
Love a good easy man like that. You’ve taught him well. :)
Love it! When I had my husband paint my dining room pepto bismo pink…he just said, “Are you sure you want me to keep going?” I said yes and he got the job done. And, it looks great with chocolate brown curtains. An agreeable man. It’s a good thing! ~Chris Ann
I just love how your husband’s pants match your ottoman. ;)
I love what you’ve done with the place! (The ‘after’ photos, of course! Although, it looks pretty dadgum good in these photos, too!)
Your house looks cute even while being “torn apart”… with me it tends to get really caotic since I just focus on getting the job done… I too thave pinkish wallpaper in my livingroom and I hate it! But re-wallpapering is just so much more work than re-painting…
Really, really like that colour – and I love that you have a wonderful man. Me too! And mine is going to be in that place soon too – we move over the next few weeks and I can see him needing his TV time while I set up our nest around him!
It’s kind of like you do the nesting and he does the roosting…
Same at our house…
Hey I like the color too. What a great hubby! Mine is totally into the blogging thing now…understands my need to paint, repaint, move furniture, de-clutter, spray paint….spray paint….
He said Home Depot called and wanted to know why we were buying so much spray paint! buwahahahaha….you know in California it is behind locked racks! So hubby said they keep track of spray paint!
I love watching how you change things around…you seem so gifted at placing things!
Great post!
I’m off to Home Depot!
Debbie
Yes, you have a terrific hubby. You can tell he’s cool with the arrangement as he’s enjoying his meal while watching TV.
He is obviously perfect for you…he matches his paints with your foot stool/ottomen!! heehee.
I wish you could come visit me and give me some tips!!! (about decorating that is…not so much my hubby, cause he’s almost perfect too!!)
***s/b Pants, not paints***
You are a lucky woman, if I so much as move a picture, or paint a picture frame, I get looks and grouches. Maybe your husband should have a boot camp for husbands and whip them into shape.
okay, love your husband!
Yes yes yes, your blog is just soooo wonderful and gives me a lot of energy!

Love your wall color!!!
I like how he notices things like color. You have rubbed off on him. A guy I used to work with said when his wife did stuff like redecorate or change her hair, he’d say, “Did you whitewall the tires? What’s different?”
Good man, that one…
I love the blueish shade–pony up the name, please!!! :-)
I am, God willing, FINALLY going to be painting our family room this next week/end–if the stomach bug currently in progress hereabouts, leaves by then. I’ve got painting to do, mistreatments to arrange, etc, etc, etc. And get it all put back together while dealing with the gruesome twosome (twin almost 3 yr olds–the older three will be going with their dad to go camping while I dismantle the family room, lol).
Its only taken me two years to get around to it, lol. Thanks for the ‘push’…
What a great pic! :-) Love the little country aesthetic you got going on, and the decorative plates on the wall is well done! You would love how our design team’s approach of making ‘what’s old, new again’.

A man who comments on the color of the walls? Now that’s a rare find! And I must say he has good taste, the color of the wall is quite lovely, and I also adore the colors on that plate display on the wall.
Add my name to the list of people who want the name of that gorgey blue paint! I just bought new bed linens and have had trouble finding a color to go with – I think that one oughta do it! BTW – Love ALL your things and website – it’s a daily read for me.
this looks like a great place to look for those special extras! thanks for featuring it!
What a guy. Mine is the same way. Doesn’t ask why he has to move the Washer & Dryer out, or why all the pantry stuff is sitting in the chairs, he just knows the finished project will look great:)
