Having recently married an American and moved all the way to the Midwest USA from a little seaside country town in Australia I am missing my old home and family very much. I would have the names of my neice and nephew. With the mother of pearl coming from the ocean that would be a lovely reminder of my home town.
A small part of me would like to get “Made in Australia” on one as well so that I can remember where I’m from as I make my new life in a new country, but I think that could just confuse people into thinking the charms where made there too.
I would put S.H.M.I.L.Y. That stands for “See How Much I Love You” and is something my husband started writing on everything for me back when we were dating. We had a really rough year last year but over the last few months we have seen a COMPLETE 180 in our marriage and we have both grown closer to each other and the Lord. Having S.H.M.I.L.Y. on me at all times would just be that much more of a reminder of the journey we’ve been through and are still on!

“Little Fighter”
For my son Nolan who had a 3 day battle in the NICU. His name meant little fighter, his Dr’s said he would never survive birth at his size. But he was born at 26 weeks at only 13 ounces (should have been almost 2 lbs by then) and had better APGARS than some full term babies.
He was my little fighter, now my angel in Heaven.

I have been wanting to do something like this since we had our little girl in 2008. I would put my two sons’ initials (my oldest and our sweet angel that we lost shortly after birth) and my daugthers initial – as a representation of the fact that I carry my children’s love with me wherever I go.

I try to find JOY in each day knowing that she is waiting for me in Heaven and that she endured no pain here in our arms. I work to be JOYful in the midst of trying days as I homeschool and love on our other 6 children ages 12 years to 4 months. I make JOY a deliberate decision in my life knowing that life is what I make of what God has given me!

At first, the Nana in me wanted the names of my grandchildren on a necklace, but I already have a beautiful bracelet with their pictures on it, so, I believe I would like to have my husband’s name and some endearing words to describe our love after 34 years.

My mom finally became a believer this Sept 20 and I would give it to her for Mother’s Day, and write, “Cry Out to Jesus! September 20th, 2009″ This is a song by Third Day (the first part of what I’d write) that I used to sing along to and pray for my mom every time I heard it because I just wanted so badly for her to cry out to Jesus. Once she became a believer, I bought her this CD and told her about the song. She now LOVES Third Day and often cries when this song comes on (as do I). A charm bracelet like this would mean so very much to her and remind her how much Jesus loves her, how much I love her, and just how far she has come! She’s AMAZING! Her love for the Lord is awesome. She’s on fire! I cry every time I think about it. What a beautiful treasure Erin is going to bless a few ladies with!

She is truly the rock of our family and would represent the pearl in the center of the necklace. In blog designs, in furniture arrangements, in wall color etc…except I can’t seem to change my attitude towards my thighs, my butt, and this darn cold weather. So I have decided my word for 2010 is CHANGE! We just adopted a sibling group of 7 from foster care, so I would definitely have all of my children’s names.
I just love her work. If I won, I would get a necklace with the initials of me and my daughter — much the same as everyone else has probably said. The only difference is that 26 years ago my life and I were a mess, and I gave this child up for adoption. She was raised by a wonderful couple, actually lived just 10 miles away from me for several years, and when she graduated from high school she and her parents came to find me and have claimed me as family. So this would be the kind of necklace that I would have loved to be able to wear all those years ago, and now I can. :)

I fell in love with these pieces a few months ago when I saw them for the first time. I’m not sure which piece I would pick, if I had kids I would definitely use their names, but for me right now I think I would use a bible verse. Jeremiah 29:11 speaks volumes to me right now, but even a simple word of Faith or Trust would also be a great pick for me.
I would choose the initial necklace and put the names of the 2 babies we have lost to disrupted adoptions this past year and hope to add a new name soon of a baby we get to keep.

Simply breathe-taking. That describes my grandmother’s love for her famliy and The Vintage Pearl products! I would most definitely choose the layered mother of pearl. Keeping us all close to her heart with something so unique would touch my grandmother deeply. (I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before!) I just love how you get different looks from different perspectives. This piece is beautiful on it’s own should someone be at a distance, but then to take a closer look and see how detailed and delicate… it is like a tiny little surprise.

I think I would have my first piece simply say “grace”. It is the name of my only daughter, who is a senior in high school, and getting ready to leave the nest for college. I will miss her terribly! She has truly been an undeserved gift from God, so her name suits her well. A treasured piece from The VIntage Pearl would be a wonderful way to keep her close to me every day, and hopefully help me make the transition. I am going to need it!

What lovely pieces! so hard to choose what I would get – there are so many great ideas! Most people would use thier kids names, etc. but I think I’d go the opposite direction in the family tree in my case….I would get the initials WRH and either a stamp that looked like angel wings or the words “you only go around once” Those are my Dad’s initials who passed away from skin cancer 11 yrs ago next month. He used to say that a lot and I always laugh when I say it to my kids! Just would be a cool little tribute to my awesome Dad!

i’m pregnant with my second baby (and final one, I think). i’ve finally gotten my husband to compromise on a name… so I would LOVE to have a necklace with the names of my two baby loves … ‘lily and eli’.

I hardly wear anything jewelry – just my wedding ring and a lovely string of amethyst beads I inherited from my grandmother when she passed, when the occasion calls for it; I don’t even have pierced ears! – but there are a number of pieces from “The Vintage Pearl” that simply speak to me.
So loudly, I’d in fact LOVE to wear them :o) and that’s a first! The Mother of Pearl drops with the names of my husband and our son …or the Swarowski drops, again with the names of my “men” … or the family nest pendant.

When I was young I remember going to some Silver warehouse back East and I got to make my own spoon! It was stolen and this spoon will remind me of that fun family trip!

I would put 11 Kids on my charm. That way I would not have to have 11 charms to weigh me down. A few kids ago I had one of those necklaces with the paperdoll looking charms of boys and girls – but it started to look freakish with all those little people on it. Plus people started asking me if they were my grandkids. And I started getting ugly with them.
