I *am* a computer geek - RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. So you had it right. Internet Explorer automatically finds the RSS ability and activates the orange icon if the blog has that ability. I click that button and it automatically adds the blog to my list in IE, as well as syncs it wiht my feeds in Windows Live Mail. I don't care for Blogger, Bloglines or anything Google because it feels like iTunes and proprietary to me. I prefer Wordpress because it's open source and, well, just more open.
