Well, we didn’t win a prize but…

Nesting Place was nominated and placed in the Top 100 Christian Women’s Blogs for 2008 . I want to thank whomever nominated the Nest. But I have to admit, I was surprised at the category.

“Gathered Together Blog: This is a group blog category. This blog is a team of writers who inspire you with their words of encouragement.”

At first I wondered if they knew that I don’t have a team of writers. I know how hard it is to believe that only one measly person can come up with such compelling content like toaster strudels and fur snow and such. I almost kept my mouth shut for fear that they would realize that Nesting Place should not even be on the list but my curiosity got the best of me. I had to inquire about the group blog category. Amy sent me her reply:

…I knew that you alone wrote it but according to the comments they left with the nomination they wanted to be sure that “Nester” and “the birds” were on the list! They also mentioned your sister and how funny she was. … One lady did say she loved how she felt a part of a group because you encouraged so much interaction. We pondered over whether or not to include yours there in that category or move you to one of the others where you were nominated but in the end we went with where you had the most nominations.

This was truly one of the high points of this blog’s life. YOU! You feel a part of this! That is something I have desired and had no idea how to accomplish! I am thrilled that WE have made this blog a fun and encouraging place to get ideas and get inspired! I’m too lazy to do fancy stuff like forums but you have made Nesting Place feel like a group blog. Whether you are a reader who has never commented but you tell your friends about the Nest, a faithful commenter, a Mr. Linky enthusiast, or a Bird we are watching, thank you for being a part of Nesting Place.

Lastly,I was surprised that the Nest was even considered for a Christian award. That is only the second time the ‘C’ word has been used on this blog {the first being a couple paragraphs above}. I guess the bird’s out of the bag. There’s not much talk of Jesus and the gang at this here blog but this Bible College girl is glad you could see Him through all the hot glue and fabric.

To you dear reader, thank you so much for accepting me and my idiot ways. Thank you for not laughing at window mistreatments. Thank you for letting me be a dork and make stupid mistakes and use poor grammar and ramble. Thank you for embracing the fact that it doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful!

Congratulations to the 99 others on the list!
